Understanding the Importance of Auto Service: A Guide for Everyone

Auto service is critical, and without it, you can lose your car or put yourself in danger. Hi, my name is Pete, and after ignoring my brakes for too long, I was in an accident. I made it my goal to learn everything I could about the importance of car service. Regardless of how much or how little you know about cars, I hope that these blogs can help you. I plan to focus on a range of topics related to auto service and possibly some other ideas as well. This is my first blog, and I hope that you enjoy it. When I'm not writing, I work in a coffee shop during the day and part-time for a telemarketing company in the evenings. I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

Troubleshooting Common Campervan Issues

by Alexandra Obrien

A campervan can be the ideal vehicle for weekend trips or vacations that require much travel. They typically offer more room and are the most comfortable means of traveling far distances. However, it is important that you keep your campervan maintained to ensure that it is in great condition for your next trip. This means that you need to be able to diagnose common campervan issues. It is possible to determine the cause of common problems if you learn the right signs to look for.

Not Starting

One of the biggest problems that will occur over time with a campervan involves the inability to start it. If your campervan will not start, there are a few simple solutions to this problem. It is possible that you could be dealing with a low battery or a faulty fuel pump. These are easier fixes for a campervan that will not start. When you first notice that your campervan will not start, you should take a look at the battery. This means that you need to make sure that the battery is correctly connected and that all battery fluid levels are normal. If the battery itself is fine, you can then make sure that the fuel pump is adequately connected to the fuel pipe.

Loud Engine

If you begin to notice that your campervan is rough running and the engine is abnormally loud, you need to begin by taking a look at the sparkplugs. It is possible that the engine is not running on all cylinders. If the spark plugs and distributor caps are all in the right place, you have to have the engine checked for failure by a campervan repair specialist.

Acceleration Problems

Many campervans often have accelerator problems overtime. This is due to the fact that the accelerator cable and clutch cable are prone to snapping. When this happens, you will notice right away because you will lose power to your vehicle or not be able to switch the gear. It is always a good idea to have spare accelerator and clutch cables with you on long trips in case this cable does snap.

Brake Issues

It is also possible for the brakes to become faulty over time on most campervan models. This is especially true if you fail to have the brakes properly maintained in between trips. The brake calipers are known to cease up. This means that you should clean the brake pads and drums annually to get the most longevity out of your braking system.
